Ringers at the School Carol Concert

At the peak of our recruitment campaign in 2005 we were training six students from Alvechurch Middle School and we had hopes of being able to form a youth team which could take over some of our regular duties. Over the year though we lost two of them but we are very pleased to have retained four valuable new pairs of hands.

The Middle School holds a Carol Concert in St Laurence at the end of the Autumn term and, although we do not usually ring for this service, we felt that it would be a good opportunity for our new ringers to show their friends what they could do. One of them was already commited to performing in the service itself but the photograph shows three of the school team with five of the older members making up the band.
