Bell Chamber
The bell chamber showing the wheels of the eight bells in the frame. The wheel in the foreground belongs to the tenor bell, the heaviest and largest of the eight. Immediately behind the tenor is the smaller wheel of the treble bell, the lightest bell in the tower.
The two wheels on the left are bells two and three. These are mounted in an extension to the original frame which was built in 1891. All the bells had to be moved around in the frame that year when bells one and two were added.
This view of the chamber shows how little space we have in the tower. Dismantling the frame and bells will take some careful planning.
