Database Development

Alvechurch Data specialise in databases for small businesses. These databases will run on a typical grade of office PC and require no specialised skills for day to day use.We have been working on database development in Alvechurch, just south of Birmingham, for fifteen years and have built systems for a range of local and national businesses.

Database Training

Many businesses would be unable to operate without the information in their databases so it is important that their staff are properly trained and confident. Alvechurch Data run a variety of courses for all levels of users and developers in Access and Visual FoxPro. Visit our database training pages for more details.

Microsoft Visual FoxPro

FoxPro was launched in 1988 and is a very stable system for databases up to a few million records. We are working with version 9 which was released in 2005 but we are still supporting programs which were written ten years ago. Microsoft have maintained compatibility across all versions of FoxPro. Upgrades are straightforward and a version 9 system can share data files with any earlier database. Our web site has a section of hints and tips for FoxPro users and developers.

Microsoft Access

Access is Microsoft's most popular database. It was launched as part of the Office suite and is the best solution where users need to be able extend the system to meet individual requirements. Access integrates well with the other components of Microsoft Office. Our web site has a section of hints and tips for Access users and developers.
